| Personally I was disappointed that Halle berry didnt recieve a nomination for Best Actress for her roll in Frankie and Alice(great piece of acting in that movie),although it was nominated for a Golden Globe and a couple of other awards. And I was a little surprised that Book of Eli didnt get a nomination for Best Picture, infact many were complaining about the lack of diversity in this years picks by the Academy.
However of the nominees Im leaning toward Black Swan for Best Picture.but I have a feeling that its going to either The King's Speech or Inception. And mind you although Inception was a surprise summer hit last year I dont think it nor the film Fighter should be on the A list so to speak.
Best Director definetely goes to Darren Aronofsky for Black Swan.
For Best Actor, its unlikely because he already recently won an oscar but I think it shoudl go to Jeff Bridges for True Grit, however many anticipate it to be between Javier Bardem ( Biutiful as Uxbal) and Colin Firth(The King's Speech).
And finally Best Actress has to go to Natalie for Black Swan. She is one of the longest serving female veteran mainstream actresses in Hollywood and has been involved in shooting major motion pictures since the age of 13(Leon-1994).That is more than 16 years of a career which has spanned longer then even some actresses older than her.And she really poured out her heart and soul in her role as Nina Sayers a NYC exotic dancer struggling for acceptance on Broadway while battling drugs, self esteem and rapid hallucinations.(It almost made me cry). You could really feel her character. |

| O man let me tell you Lilly,Im done with the Oscars until they prove to stop going with the flow of media buzz and marketing and start to actually picking deserving films and actors. Most of the nominations in the main categories arent even worthy of being at the Razzies lol and you just proved it with that list lol.I mean Toy Story 3 for Best Pic?Are you fuckin' kidding me? What I am most taken a back by is the fact that they chose to exclude films like Brooklyn's finest and Book of ELI which were some of the best dramas of the year, although it has been well known that movies cursed enough to come out towards the bery beggining of the year usually dont do well at the Oscars because they are often looked over. Of those on that terrible list lol I will pick the ones I think will win not the ones that should win cause almost noen of them should lol. The King's Speech (Best Picture) Tom Hooper – The King's Speech(Best Director) Colin Firth (Best Actor) Natalie Portman (Best Actress) |

| Ahh they will give it to the hype machines as usual. But who cares,I dont put alot of stock in the Academy Awards anyway...most of their decisions are politically motivated or a payoff anyway. |

| Well so far things are going as expected accept I was surprised at the wins for Best supporting roles both going to "The Fighter" in Christian Bale and Melissa Leo . Randy Newman won best original film score for Toy Story 3. Pleasingly,Natlie Portman picked up Best Actress for her role in the Swan and (I love that haircut she is beautiful still). And as expected the King's Speech so far has picked up 2 major awards for best director and best Actor in Colin Firth Though I did hear this film was magnificent,I am a little surprised that Inception's hype hasnt carried it over into the major categories more although it has won 4 awards already for Best visual effects, sound editing, cinematography and sound mixing. |

| LoL and I heard that that Melissa Leo lady said FUCK! on stage after winning for best supporting actress which is ironic for the role she played as a tough talking kind of trailer trashy mother of Mickey Ward(Mark Wahlberg) . Good Im glad she said something out of context wake all thsoe fakes in their thousand dollar party dresses and 3 piece suits the FUCK up .Though ofcourse she probably will never be invited to the Awards again lolz. |

| It was also funny about Randy Newman saying that was his 20th nomination but only 2 Oscar |

| And yea I thought they were going to give almost everything to Inception though Im glad they didnt...I really dont think it was Oscar worthy although it was a decent film.
My problem with the Oscars is that they pass up so many great films for ones that shouldnt even be on the richter scale so to speak like Toy Story 3 and Social Network for example....um why are these films even nominated? They did the same thing the years that King Kong and The Last Samurai came out....those were obviously the greatest films of their respective years and they were nominated for nothing.Book of Eli and Brooklyn's Finest were very good films and should have atleast been nominated.
Ethan Hawke for example should have been up for Best Actor in his role as a cop struggling between right and wrong:
