| http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/02/28/pennsylvania.pizza.bomber/index.html?iref=allsearch In one of perhaps the strangest cases of a bank heist in American history one of the conspirators in the bombing that killed a pizza delivery man and started with a robbery a Pennsylvannia woman named Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong was sentenced to life in prison plsu 30 years . This is truly one of the strangest and most heart wrenching stories that I have ever come across which began on the morning of August 28,2003 when a pizza delivery man named Brian Wells walked into a bank in Eerie,Pennsylvannia and demanded money, claiming that he was being forced to rob the bank by someone who had put a bomba round his neck. After bank tellers gave him the money,he exited the bank in car and was soon pulled over by police. When he claimed to them that he had a bomb they took no chances and ordered him to sit on the ground while they created a perimeter around the area and waited for bomb squad back up.But before they could reach the scene......the police witnessed the awful reality that Well had been telling the truth about a real bomb strapped to his neck as it exploded killing him instantly. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b604a995a1 (warning, the clip in this above link is extremely graghic, viewer discretion is advised)Since this bizzarre incident federal investigators who shortly after Wells death took over the investigation unraveled the mystery and determined that 2 conspirators were behind the incident including Deihl Armstrong and 55 years old kenneth barnes who was sentenced for his role in the bombing/robbery in december of 2008. Plus they also strongly belive that while Brian Wells was a victim of this plot he was also a fellow conspirator who played his role of victim to a tee right up until the fateful end. This is somethign however that Wells family flatly denies saying that he woul d have never done something liek that to harm himself or others. Pizza deliveryman Brian Wells sits next to a police cruiser awaiting help just minutes before dying when the explosive device he wore around hsi neck explodes.Either way with Armtong's sentencing today thebook is finally closed onwhat si sure to be the most infamous robbery murder case in pennsylvannia's history. This has to sooner or later wind up on Ripley's believe it or not lol. (Police and FBI officals say that this was part of the device/mechanism used to fasten the bomb around Wells neck) (Police say 46 year old Brian Wells was the victim of his own bank robbery plot along with two co-conspirators,though a family attorney for Wells says the family plans to sue the Eerie county sherrifs Dept. for not responding quickly enough to Well's aide when he begged for help.

| Aww man, that poor dude got duped into not only thinking that the device was fake, but that he was an actual accomplice. When he literally was just the fall guy and it's like -ly that Barnes, would've killed him anyway considering the plot was to gt enough money for Barnes to kill Marjorie's father, so she can get his inheritance. |

| Omg thats horrid.Who in the hell would even think up something that diabolical? And why would someone agree to be part of a plot that puts their own life at risk?
Im glad I didnt watch the video,I dont need nightmares for the next week or so.The story itself was graghic and tragic enough. |

| Ironically I remember hearing about this incident and initially I thought about how terrible it was that this poor pizza delivery guy was forced to basically surrender his life at the behest and on behalf of pure evil and sinistry.Though even now years later knowing that he was part of the plot that killed him I still kind of feel this way because I believe that its more to the story than meets the eye.I believe he was both cohearsed and threatened by the other assailants to take the role in this very dangerous part of the robbery heist even if he was initially part of the conspiracy.Just a tragic reminder too all....if you have a dumb idea let it pass,if someone else has a dumb idea let them pass....you.
Justice has been served. |

| Not trying to sound insensitive but this makes absolutely no sense to me.Its ridiculous. Why the hell would you put a bomb around your own neck to rob a bank with?If anything goes wrong or if they dont comply, yes you could injure ot kill them, but you are dead for sure. Baffling stupidity at its finest. |

The very first thing I would have done is go to the police or hospital or maybe to a locksmith and beg them to get it off of me.Maybe a fire station would be best because their first reaction would be to draw weapons or evacuate the area.He had to be part of the plot even if he was forced to wear it,what made him think he had enough time to rob the bank and then play victim with police? He clearly wasnt thinking clearly. |
Yes it was, 3 actually (An electronic de- coy countdown timer and 2 Sunbeam kit -chen timers, with 1 of them being rigged for would be disablers), though I'm sure it's not your average "Masterlock" (Lock -smith/ I know you were kidding).
Anyway, according to his Wiki, he was part of the plot, up until finding out that the bomb he'd be wearing was actuallyy real upon meeting 2 of what he believed were his accomplices for the first time at a transmission tower (Assailants), on the afternoon that robbery took place. Then, he wanted out! a scuffle ensued shortly af -ter as Wells tried to flee, but one of them fired a gun, causing Wells to stop (Presum -mably Kenneth Barnes or William Roth- stein), that's when officials say the collar bomb was attached and well, the rest is history.
