LOL,with Lilly and Colt in here,Im almost afraid to post this thread Razz haha!

But in all seriousness, its about that time again boys and girls, the time that rolls around every 2 years for us the choose which professional and pathological liar should lie to us for the next 4 to 6 (depending on term) years Rolling Eyes Laughing .

yep the 2010 Senate elections are here with 37 of the 100 senate seats in Congress up for grabs and with Obama seemingly pissing alot of people off on alot of issues and the Democratic majority on Capitol Hill backing him and nearly every step,it is estimated by the polls that by the end of Nov.2nd the red Republicans will be back in control for the first time since the Bush Administration.

With our state seemingly in the midst of an economical civil disaster with unemployment and layoffs through the roof, for the first time that I can remember(maybe cause I havent paid that much attention lol)the senate race according to all of the "Smart People Cool " is a toss up meaning that a normally predominent blue state could and might just turn red this year.

I might vote in some of the local municiple elections but to be honest I dont care for either choice in the main senate race.Senator Boxer is an executive action tool fool trying to raise our taxes so high that for every breath we take,it will be a 1 dollar service fee Rolling Eyes and Republican Fiorna is all wrong for all the wrong reasons. She's a corperate slave ,master that laid 30,000 Hewlett Packard workers off when she was CEO of the company.......thats stops my opinion of her any further right there, way to heartless an act for my vote.

i probably wont vote in the state senate race, maybe not at all,but what about you guys(our American members)?Whats your take on respective races in your cities, townships and states? Are you going red or blue, were you already red or blue and switching?and why?

You should have put a "dunno" choice inthe poll Peter because I honestly dont know which side of the wind storm Im being blown towards withthings the way they are right now lol.

Im thinking heavily on either Dem or Independant, definetly not Republican(as long as they are traditionalist inconsiderants,I can never support them).

Though Im not sure I will vote in the Senate race at all.I just recently registered to vote in state elections 2 months ago(I had already been registered in Nevada and Arizona,so Im not sure if Im confirmed or not yet,so we will just have to wait and let time tell.

Im just curious.

Does your "senate"election over there influence the presidential race in 2012?

Kind of like Israel where the Prime minister needs a majority in Parliment from members of his party to stay in control or he must negotiate an agreement with the majority rule that is in control.

Yea I thought about that lil but I figured everyone that didnt know would just select independant and it looks like my assumption proved to be correct thus far.

Remarkable!

This could indeed be a foretell of 2012 folks. In an election that many thought would be the Dem's undoing, they were able to hold on in the Senate race to retain the majority which means that Obama's camp, like or hate will still have legitmate power in Congress. Those victories and position reaapointments included our very own Senator Barbara Boxer who kept her seat in a very close election battle and slim margin of just barely over 1% .I cant say that I am pleased or disheartened with this news as I voted for neither canidate.I do know that our state needs some major reform from the Governors office on down.

Although the Republicans were able to successfully overrun the House of Representatives by gaining 50 seats, many analysts' prior predictions that they would have sweeping victories in both Congressional sectors was incorrect.

Despite his presidency approval rating being at an all time low right now,it appears that more memories of the prior GOP disaster of the last administration is still overshadowing knowledge of the incompetence of the current administration lol.Lucky for Obama eh?

Assuming that he will run for reelection......tonight's results just might be a sigh of relief from the expectations that people were ready to flush the new leadership in the post Bush era.Republicans may be a step up but they must be a little disheartened that they didnt do as well as they thougt Crying or Very sad .

Ahh o well, better luck next campaign season.Tis the tale of American Politics lol!

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/11/04/breaking-in-illinois-cnn-projects-democratic-gov-win/?hpt=T2

LoL looks like despite the Blogoiovich corruption scandal its looking like we are holding our strong Democratic base here.

Pat Quinn who took up post in 08 after Blago was removed from office on grounds of impeachment has won by a narrow margin his bid for a full term as our governor, beating out Bill Brady who had a very strong run in the polls and won nearly half the votes outside of cook county(which is strongly Democratic).

Though unfortunetly with the issues surrounding Rod Blagoiovich's appointment of Rolland Burris,Burris had to step down after filling Obama's seat in Congress and that made way for a much weaker opponet Rolling Eyes Alexi Giannoulias(that noone has hardly even heard of)

against front runner Republican Mark Kirk

Thus we had no chance of retaining the Junior Senate seat.

I found it funny that they sat down and had beers downtown this morning like that little young ass Alexi dude was even relevant in the first place.

people forgot that he said change may come in a few years, or even past his term. they forgot that hey change can come but we also have to stop relying on him because he's the president. people forget he's human.

I really kinda wish you had have never brung this issue up.Im not blaming you for excercising your free speech Im just stating a personal feeling about this, because I know as we all come from different realities and how fierce political standpoints are(especially when their in the negative against someone Rolling Eyes ) this is bound to veer out of control and get heated just like the "sex" and "religion" threads but here we go.

People no doubt are going to blame the current administration for what is,blind to the fact that all this began during the last administration. The Republicans knew they would lose in 2008 but they also knew that 4 years later the wrongs that their stage puppet Bush had applied would be long gone with the democrats left holding the bag looking like the culprits, not to mention the the upgraded despise considering that a black man is in office.

We cannot blame this on Obama,he couldnt stop whats coming even if he were elected to another 3 terms, the timer on the bomb was set just a few months after Bush's 2004 reelection and all attempts to defuse it and avoid the coming doom in the finance, credit, economic and employment sectors have failed. To be honest I think Obama should not re-run because Im not sure if the bomb will explode on his watch (by 2012) but you can damn near garantee that by 2016 the full effects of this oncoming crisis will be in swing.
