PostSubject: Clean/Organised Living area = more blissful state of mind   Wed Feb 22, 2012 8:47 am

Well recently, I finally got around to finish setting up my new joint and cleaning it... I sorted through all shit in my garage, and swept it out.. I set up my out door setting on my balcony, and swept it out... I vacuumed and mopped the floors, caught up with all my washing, through out old shit that i'd always been putting off doing.. clothes, shoes etc that i never wore... Vacuumed my room, washed bed sheete, cleaned the bathroom - pretty much just organised and cleaned up every aspect of my living conditions. and the next day I felt great... like a freedom feeling.. Try it people - clean up your physical clutter - and it will help with the mental..

I agree whole heartedly but then again the goal is to not let it get cluttered int he first place.I always tell people, the best way to keep from having your living space turn into a pig sty is put things up right after you use them and throw things way as soon as your done with the contents of them. That way it cant pile up.Washing dishes after each meal so they dotn pile up in the sink one meal at a time or buying paper plate and pastic utensils so you dont need resusables is also a plus. And try to use trash bags only and avoid trash cans if you can because rut and filth from garbage tends to collect int he lower extremities
of bins weather you put liners in them or not.

Kill messes before they grow.

I'm often on top of these things, especially when I'm expecting company. But as long as the dishes are washed, the trash is out and my dirty clothes are in the laundry. I'll sleep on it and take care of everything on the weekend.

I totally agree.I admit I used to be a fucking slob, letting my living area get so cluttered with unfolded and dirty clothes and un thrown away trash that you would have looked up at the ceiling wondering why it wasnt a trash can lid instead lol! .

But as of March 2010 that abruptly changed.I mean My entire attitude when from F to A in an instant.I made a choice one day before cleaning my apartment and later my car that that would be the last time in my life that I let a empty potatoe chip bag hit the floor or left out of the house without my linens and clothes folded and put away in proper areas.

Living in a neat and organized enviorment I have found does make you feel more in control of yourself and your surroundings, even maybe a bit less paranoid and mean spirited(as I used to be).Its also ofcourse good for being able to keep track of important things like documents, favorite outfits, electronics devices vital for entertainment/recreational purposes like remote controls,MP3 players etc. .

But one thing above anything else I have found when it comes to neatness and organization is that when you are neat and organized there is no need for clean up because you nip it in the bud before it becomes a fucking mess.
